So I am not so good at this...
So I thought that Blogging would be a great way to get my thoughts out and on "paper" but really it is hard to remember to do and it is hard to find the time. I was blogging about my workouts but they are kind of sporadic now as we have so much going on right now. We are trying to figure out how we are going to fit, two "destination" weddings, possibly a trip to California, plus another friends wedding, plus fourth of July, AND!!!! a trip for just Michael and myself all in one summer (and into the early fall). AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! We are running out of summer time, and vacation time, assuming we will be able to pull off all of these trips! I could keep going on about a pity party for me but I know there are worse things in life so I will just stop there. So all of that to say I am not so good at blogging, but I will keep on trying!

Week 3 of Insanity - kind of
So, we started week three out strong, Michael and I both did so much better on the fit test and had good workouts - then things got busy! SO..... we decided this week to start over and we realized there is a reason that they say do NOT miss workouts in this program and we have learned that the hard way! So since we did slack off last week I have decided to up my workouts (of course Michael is still losing so he is not too worried about it) so I am starting to run every other day - then continuing my insanity workouts incorporated with some light lifting during the week, if that doesn't give me a jump start I don't know what else to do!!!
Though while we were to busy to work out we had a great weekend!! Friday we celebrated Sarah's birthday, then a couple of the girls came over for brunch then went to get a pedi - then went to Jay's house for a cookout in honor of his birthday with all of his family and had a great time as well! Sunday we went to Sanders nursery - and I have never seen Lucien so excited about plants - he kept pulling me all different ways wanting to show me what he found!!!
So - hopefully we will do better this week!

Week 2 of Insanity
So Michael and I started week two of our Insanity workouts yesterday. During the whole workout I kept thinking "this is the worst workout out of all of them", then came today and I have decided that today's workout is the worst - seriously I want to hate Shaun T!!! Michael almost threw up - but hey if the hired professionals can't make it through without collapsing I think we are doing pretty good just by keeping up!!! But I know that it will be worth it in the end.
Ok, on a totally different note has anyone noticed how QUICKLY road rage sets in while driving??? If I was walking and there was an elderly person in front of me I would not scream and motion at them to move out of the way, I would politely wait till I could get around them... BUT NOT WHEN I AM IN THE CAR!!! There was a little old man turning left onto a one way street downtown (yes it was the correct way) and I was behind him, the light turns green and he just sits there then slowly lets off the brake and begins to turn... going around 2 miles per hour. Not only does he turn slowly but he goes to the far lane so I can't get around him... Needless to say after honking at him, screaming and flailing my arms about in the car he finally turned, but I think I almost gave my mother a heart attack screaming into the phone - since I was on the phone with her at the time... But on a positive note, at least Lucien wasn't in the car with me!!

Insanity!
Last year I got involved with one of the workout boot camps here in town but ended up having to stop going around October. Then, I started running training for a half marathon - but my ankle would not hold up to that much running, so now I have started the Insanity workouts with Shaun T. and holy cow they are so hard. I know that I am not that out of shape but these are killing me - even the people on the videos are dying, so you know it is hard! But I am committed to getting in better shape. I have got two family weddings this year, Eli's is August 8th, and Lindsay's is September 6th, and we are putting on a dinner at The Broadway for the Tulsa Wedding Association somewhere in between, so if all of that is not incentive enough then I don't know what is!!!
Michael is doing the Insanity workouts with me and I am SO glad that he is, otherwise I don't know if I could keep going on them - they are so difficult. I thought I was going to throw up after the second workout and I could barely walk!!! There is a lot of jumping and squats and football drills and basketball drills - which no wonder all of those athletes are in such good shape if this is the kind of stuff that they have to do.
So part of this blog is to keep me accountable for my workouts. Today will be the last workout in the first week of Insanity. I am watching what I am eating, getting enough sleep and drinking A LOT of water, and honestly I am already seeing a difference. We had to do a "Fit Test" on the first day of the workout regimine and we take it every two weeks so we will see what a difference two weeks can make. For my first Fit Test I had the following results for each exercise in one minute:
Switch Jacks - 99
Power Jacks - 42
Power Knees - 85
Power Jumps - 29
Globe Jumps - 10 (ha ha these were really hard)
Suicide Jumps - 11
Push Up Jacks - 16
Low Plank Oblique - 45
So we will see what happens next Monday at the next Fit Test!

So I have taken the plunge and started a blog about the goings on at The Krause House. A little background, my husband and I met through mutual friends during the summer of 1999 at the TU Pike House while I was still living in Stillwater. Once I came back home in August he and I began seeing a lot of each other. Speeding up a bit we got married in June of 2002, moved to Bakersfield, CA then quickly moved back to T Town. I got pregnant in 2005 and had our precious baby boy Lucien (named after my grandfather) on December 5th, 2005. We bought our first house while I was pregnant and keep busy with home improvement projects, we have since redone the kitchen, added a bonus room, put in new carpet.... you know all the fun stuff! My father passed away in November of 2008, my sister Kendall got married in December 2008 and has a beautiful baby girl Isabella in September 2009, my other sister Lindsay is newly engaged to Jay, Eli (who lives in Portland, OR) is engaged to Selena and all of my close friends over the past year have had babies or gotten married, so it has been a crazy couple of years.
So that is my first blog an update to the present. Soon I will post what has been going on currently.
